Step into Rob DePiazza’s house and you’ll find yourself transported back to the heart of the 1960s’ pop art revolution. His home is filled with an array of Andy Warhol- and Keith Haring-style artwork, striking patterns, vibrant primary colors, and mid-century mod design; it’s like walking through a museum exhibit dedicated to these iconic cultural influences!
Converted container homes have been gaining popularity in communities throughout the nation, captivating people with their utilitarian and rustic industrial style.... When DePiazza constructed his residence at 1369 Prince Road, he intended it to be a refuge for him and his family; an alternative dwelling following Hurricane Irma devastatingly destroying the property adjacent to that of which they had called home for over three decades prior.
DePiazza’s PRCH (Prince Road Container House) offers a memorable experience for only $350 per night. Guests will enjoy 1,600 square feet of living space with room to sleep six and many exciting amenities like: a BOSE sound system; Viking gas range; an elegant landing-pad lounge; retro-style dining booth/counter; and even a restored 1957 jukebox or art collection making it the perfect place for family getaways!

In St. Petersburg, the owners of Getaway are constructing a chic container-style waterfront bar and kitchen to enhance their guests’ experience. Over in Tampa, Lightning fans are reveling in the NHL playoffs at Ferg’s Live – another one of architect Brandon Hicks’ captivating designs made from containers that is located conveniently close to Amalie Arena. Containers offer abundance when it comes to functionality and style; an idea that Hicks cleverly capitalized on with his projects!... Beyond Ferg’s and the Getaway, a team of architects has been working diligently on an ambitious project called Mercado. Their dream is to build a 3.25 state acre plaza made out of containers at the intersection between Interstate 275 and Interstate 4; it would serve as both commercial hub and community center. At 12th Street Studio in Tampa, Hicks took charge of this endeavor after spending years perfecting container projects; but out of them all, The Getaway was the first one to come into fruition!
