An open top shipping container is like a standard container except that it does not have a metal roof. Instead, it has waterproof tarpaulin roof and removable roof bows. These shipping containers are useful for loading bulky or tall cargo that's usually lifted on a crane. They have greater capacity than standard dry vans because of the removable roof.

What is an open top shipping container?

An open top shipping container looks similar to a standard dry van shipping container except that the roof is either a waterproof tarpaulin tarp or a removable metal roof.

Most customers purchase open top containers in order to ship bulky cargo that is difficult to load in a dry van shipping container. The cargo is usually loaded into the open top container by using a crane. Because of the removable roof, these containers have a greater capacity than standard dry vans. These special shipping containers also have lashing rings on the inside so that you can secure cargo.

Open-top containers have a lifespan that can vary depending on various factors such as maintenance, usage, and environmental conditions. Open-top shipping containers typically have an average lifespan of about 25 to 35 years.

When you call in you get a call center and the customer service lady, I wish I could remember her name but she had a southern accent. She was so helpful and accommodating and was not going to quit until she had everything covered and squared away. I have rarely experienced customer service at this level.
